URBAN NELLIE (BALTIC) Age 96, of Colfax died peacefully Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her residence. Nellie was born August 27, 1922 in Ligonier, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Baltic and Mary Hayden Baltic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Harry Urban in 2014; two brothers and two sisters. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Nellie had received her Master's Degree from University of Alabama Extension Program in Columbia, South America and taught in Pittsburgh and Panama in Central America. She was a resident of River Landing since 2005. Those who will cherish Nellie's memories are her children, Patricia Urban and husband, Edward Schortman of Ohio and Michael Urban and wife, Elizabeth, of Massachusetts; sisters, Olga Baltic and Virginia Baltic both of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Aeleka Schortman, Hayden Schortman and Jane Urban. ANDERSON BROOKS Age 87, of Greenville (formerly of Pulaski and West Mifflin), passed away on November 16th. Brooks was recently preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Colette C. (Logue) Anderson. A viewing is to be held at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 West Neshannock Avenue, New Wilmington, PA 16142, on Tuesday, November 20th, 4:00-7:00 p.m. The memorial service will take place at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson Hills, PA, on Wednesday, November 21st, at 12:00 p.m. Lunch will follow at South Park Clubhouse at 1:30 p.m. Brooks was the hardworking father of Mark (Cathy) Anderson of West Mifflin, Randy (Deborah) Anderson of Greenville, Robin (Drew) Levitske of Jefferson Hills, Marti Brown (Mario) of Chesterfield, SC, and Roxanne (Mark) Atterholt of West Middlesex. His 12 grandchildren, Brooksanne, Markie, Kaleigh, Blair, Zachary, Shane, Riley, Morgan, Maria, Luke, Montana, and Malori will remember his self-sacrifice, mischievous wit, and eagerness to spend time with them. An avid gardener, baseball player, storyteller, and reader of Western novels, Brooks passed on his love for nature, sports, and a good narrative. He lived to meet his great-grandchildren, Levi, Eva, Anselm, and Chloe. Brooks and Colette's door was always open to family, but also to strangers in need. Brooks retired after working 37 years at Calig Steel Drum in McKees Rocks, PA. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and represented the US Armed Forces in Naples, Italy, as starting pitcher in the Armed Forces All-Star Tournament. Brooks was born on July 22, 1931, in Clarksburg, WV, to Charles E. and Flossie B. Anderson. Preceded in death by his two elder brothers, Robert L. Anderson, Baldwin, PA and Theodore E. ZILKO JARRETT A. Of North Braddock, age 29, unexpectedly on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Beloved son of Georgeanna Vinciguerra and the late George S. Zilko; dear brother of Joseph (Amber) Vinciguerra and Bonnie Marie Vinciguerra; treasured nephew of Gabriella "Gubs" (Zilko) and Charlie Nigro, with whom Jarrett resided, Julie (Zilko) Duch (late Jack), Stephen "Snuffy" Zilko, the late Gloria Jean (Edward) Calabria, late Francis "Butch" Zilko, John Patrick Vinciguerra, Philomena (Mark) Ayres and George Vinciguerra, Jr. Jarrett is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Jarrett was a 2007 graduate of Woodland Hills High School where he was a member of the football team. He then attended Westminster College and played football for the Titans. Jarrett was employed with Giant Eagle at its Market District store in Shadyside. He loved to cook and used his skill and ability for his employment. Jarrett also had a keen sense of humor and a very social demeanor. He enjoyed making people laugh with a joke or smile with a kind word, and he had a unique knack of enjoining people into conversation. Jarrett was a longtime Star Wars fan and he was an animal lover. McANENY JOYCE MARIE Age 66, of Mars, formerly of Shaler Twp., on November 17, 2018. Wife of Peter J.; mother of Christopher P. (Melissa), Michael P. (Ashley) and David P. McAneny; daughter of Gloria and the late Albert Doty; sister of Richard Doty (Carole); grandmother of Evan. Joyce was a beloved wife, loving mother, fantastic daughter, devoted grandmother, caring sister, and a great friend to many. She always found a way to fill the world around her with love. She was born in New Eagle, PA and lived in Bedford, OH, Altoona and Johnstown, PA, before moving to Glenshaw, where she and Peter raised their three sons. Joyce became a volunteer at the Crisis Center North, and through this work, she found her vocation in helping victims of domestic violence. She continued this work for over 25 years. She recently retired as the longtime Legal Advocacy Manager at the Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, where she supervised the Legal Advocacy staff. She provided court accompaniment and safety planning to hundreds of domestic violence victims every year, presented trainings on domestic violence for professional and community groups, and worked with police prosecutors and the courts to improve the response of the justice system to domestic violence victims. Joyce was passionate about her work and beloved for her tireless advocacy and energy. Her love of boating, traveling, and the theater fostered a life well lived and well loved. Ethel was born on September 13, 1934 to Erving and Helen Gertrude Boyd of Penn Township. Ethel is survived by her husband, William; sister, Helen Hershey; sons, William and Derek Painter of California; stepdaughters, Monica (Robert) Kitta, Linda (Jeffrey) Carlson, Margaret (Nicholas) Ursta and Roseanne (deceased, Michael) Debruyn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey, Cody, Michael, Adam and Cherish; and her greatgrandson, Blake. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Painter. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen, Bernadine (Joseph) McGowan and Louise (Louis) Krall; and many nieces and nephews. Her beloved dog, Toby was a faithful and loving companion, at her side until the end. Ethel was surrounded with love by her husband, Bill, and family during her final days.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ethel was a licensed cosmetologist and co-owner of Safeguard Fence Company of North Versailles, with her husband, William.
